(this is actually a new rule that was implemented in 2025) That means your pool approval timing must be carefully coordinated with your home DA or CDC lodgement.

Depending on your lot size and pool placement, your pool may qualify for a Complying Development Certificate (CDC); otherwise, it will require a full Development Application (DA).

CDC is faster, typically 10–20 business days, but has strict setback and siting requirements that are harder to meet on small or easement-affected blocks.
